What is the Qustodio Kids App and how does it work?

The Qustodio Kids App is the app you’ll install on your child’s device which allows you to monitor activity. It is a different app to the Qustodio Parental Control app for Parents, and is available on Google Play and the App Store for Android and iOS.

On computers, it is the program that is in charge of monitoring the device.

How do I get and install the Qustodio Kids App?

You can find step-by-step instructions to install Qustodio Kids on your child’s device here.

What can my child see on the Kids App?

Qustodio Kids helps your children start developing time management skills and healthier online habits by keeping them informed about their available screen time, which websites or apps are restricted for their safety, or what routine is in place.

The app also notifies them when they are approaching their usage limit, allowing them to prioritize their activities and finish what they’re working on before time runs out.

  • If your child has an Android device, then when they open the Kids App they'll see a dashboard with information about their activity. Additionally, they can use the  Panic Button to reach their trusted contacts or send an SOS alert.
  • On all platforms (computers, tablets, and smartphones), your child will be able to check the remaining time quota for the day.
  • Also, they will receive notifications when their daily quota is about to end. If more time is needed, they can send an extra time request through their iOS Kids app.

As a parent, what can I manage from the Kids App?

Stop Qustodio monitoring and disable protection

If you need to stop the protection on your child’s smartphone or tablet, please:

  1. Open Qustodio Kids and tap Manage
  2. Login with your Qustodio account.
  3. Tap Disable Protection  and select one of the available options:

    - Until I turn it on again: once you’re finished, remember to open the Kids app again and tap “Activate now” to reactivate the protection.

You can also do this on computers, as long as Qustodio is not hidden (click here for more information), by clicking on the Q icon at the computer taskbar.
