What is the Qustodio Kids App?

The Qustodio Kids App is the software you will install on your child’s device which allows monitoring of all activity. It is a separate app, different from the Qustodio Parental Control app for Parents, and is available on Google Play and the App Store for Android and iOS.

Why should I get the Kids App?

The Kids App needs to be installed on each device you would like to monitor. On Android devices, the Kids’ App also lets your child see information on their time limits and time restrictions, allowing them to take the first steps in learning to manage their own screen time.

How do I get the Qustodio Kids App?

Follow these simple steps below to install the Qustodio Kids App on each child’s device you would like to monitor:

1. Visit Google Play or the App Store and download the Qustodio Kids App onto your child’s device.
2. If you already have a Qustodio account, select I have a parent account, otherwise choose I’m new to Qustodio.
3. Follow the instructions to set up the Kids’ app for every child’s device you would like to monitor. That’s it!

Kids’ Dashboard on Android

Younger Qustodio users now have access to their own dashboard! This feature provides them with more feedback about their screen time, time limits, and status on their own devices.

Please note that this feature is not yet available on iOS.

How to access the Kids’ Dashboard

Your child can access their dashboard by opening the Qustodio application, either by tapping the app icon or via the notifications bar:

Daily Time limits and Restricted Times

If you haven’t set any daily time limits or restricted times, your child will see the following information on screen:

- The circle at the top shows your child’s Daily Time limits. In this case, since no daily time limits have been set, we see the time spent inside the circle and the “No limit” message.
- The box below displays any Time Restrictions that have been set. In this case, since there are no time restrictions in place, we see the message: “No upcoming screen breaks”.

If you have set Daily Time limits for your child, they will see the following information:

- The circle at the top represents the Daily Time limits for your child. In this case, there is a daily time limit of 2 hours set, and the child has spent 1h 52 min on their device. The darker portion of the circle represents the elapsed time, and the rest shows the remaining time until the device is locked. The remaining time is also displayed in the center of the circle (8 minutes in this case)
- Please note that time spent within the Kids’ Dashboard will be counted as time used within your child’s Daily Time limit.
- The box below displays any Time Restrictions that have been set. In this case, since there are no time restrictions in place, we see the message: “No upcoming screen breaks”.

If you have set Time Restrictions for your child, they will see the following information on their kids’ dashboard:

- The circle represents Daily Time limits, as explained before.
- The box below represents the Time Restrictions in place for your child's device. In this case, the next screen break has been scheduled to begin at 8 pm. Here your child will see the scheduled time of their next screen break (“Next screen break at 8 pm”), and the time remaining screen time left until this break.
- Please note that the remaining screen time will count down by the hour, except in the last hour a countdown by minutes will be displayed.

If you have set time limits or restrictions on specific apps, your child will be able to see these below the Time Limits and Time Restrictions display.

Your child can click “see all” in the top right of the Games & Apps section, to go to a new screen showing the full list of all apps with time limits in place, and the time remaining for each. At the bottom of this list, they will be able to see the apps with expired time limits.
