What is additional parent?

The additional parent feature allows two parents or guardians to supervise one family on Qustodio, without having to share their login details.

How do I add another parent to my Qustodio account?

If you already have a Qustodio account, you can invite another parent or guardian to join you in supervising your kids. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Qustodio and go to your Account page.
  2. Scroll down to the Additional parent section.
  3. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite and click Invite now. Your invitation will show as pending.

The person you have invited will then receive an email inviting them to your account. On the email, they must click

Once they’ve created their account, they will show as confirmed in your Additional parent section and you’ll see the email address they used.

Can I invite someone to my account if they have already signed up with Qustodio?

When you invite someone who already has a Qustodio account, they must create a new account to join yours. They will not be able to bring their previous settings or subscriptions to your account.

How many additional parents can I add to my Qustodio account?

You can add one other parent to your account. You are able to remove them if you wish to add somebody else.

What can an additional parent access?

When it comes to supervising, an additional parent has the same level of access as an admin parent. They can set rules, see the children’s activity, and choose how often to receive activity reports to their own email address. They are also able to upgrade to Premium, or to a higher Premium plan, for the family.

They are not able to see the admin parent’s login details. They also cannot change the country or timezone of their account; these will automatically match the admin parent’s settings.

Can the additional parent monitor and manage all device types?

Additional parents can set up protection and monitor all the device types compatible with Qustodio.

How do I cancel an invitation for another parent to join my Qustodio account?

If you are an admin parent and have sent an invitation you would like to cancel, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Qustodio and go to your Account page.
  2. Scroll down to the Additional parent section.
  3. Click on the trash can icon next to the email address.

I am an admin parent and the additional parent upgraded to a Premium plan. What happens if I remove them or they leave my account?

If the additional parent paid for Premium and then leaves your account before it expires, you will continue to have access to Premium features.

If they paid for the Premium subscription via the Qustodio website or the Google Play Store, then once it expires, it will be automatically canceled.

If they paid for it via the App Store, then it will automatically renew unless they cancel it. To prevent it autorenewing and being charged again, the additional parent can follow the steps here.

I am an additional parent. How do I stop supervising and close my account?

  1. Log in to Qustodio and go to your Account page.
  2. At the top, click on Close my account.
  3. On the popup that appears, confirm by clicking Close account. You will no longer be able to supervise and your account will be closed. The admin parent’s account will not be affected.

As your account will be closed, you are able to create a new one using the same email address, or join as an additional parent again using that address.

I am an additional parent. What happens to my Premium subscription if I close my account before it expires?

If you paid for a Premium subscription as an additional parent, it will remain valid for the admin parent when you leave Qustodio.

If you purchased Premium via the App Store, then it will automatically renew upon expiration unless you cancel it. To cancel your subscription to prevent being charged for renewal, follow the steps here.

If you purchased Premium via the Qustodio website or the Google Play Store, then once it expires, it will be automatically canceled.

Why can’t I see the additional parent feature on my account page?

The additional parent feature is currently available for accounts that are only protecting iOS and Android devices. If you are protecting your kids’ desktops, Chromebooks, or Kindles, then you won’t see the additional parent feature at the moment. However, we are planning to roll it out for more platforms soon!

If you are only protecting iOS and Android devices but still can’t see the feature, make sure that your Parents App and Kids Apps are up to date. See how to update the Kids App manually and automatically on your child’s device in this article.
