What is Qustodio's Family Locator and how do I use it?

  • Updated

Qustodio’s Family Locator feature lets you see where your child is and where they’ve been. Family Locator can track Android and iOS devices and is accessible via the Parents’ App. This feature is available to Premium users only.

To keep track of all your kid’s locations, you need to enable location tracking for all devices. Visit your Family Portal and enable location monitoring for each child you want to track. You will find it under the Rules tab.

You must also grant location permissions on your child’s device(s).

Family Locator is available to use through the Qustodio Parents’ App only. You can access the feature through a new option on the menu.

Family Locator provides you with a map where you will be able to see the last known locations of all children’s devices that have location tracking enabled. Below the map, you will also be able to see a list of children with tracked devices (displayed in alphabetical order), and their last known locations (if available).

Location timeline

For more information on their previous locations, click on one of your children from the list to be taken to their Location timeline. Here you will be able to see a map with the last known location of that child, plus a list of their most recent reported locations. Scroll down to see more but please note that locations are not saved for more than 30 days.

To view any new reported locations while in Location timeline, simply click the icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen to refresh.

You can view any location on your installed map apps by clicking on the location from the list. On Android devices, you can obtain directions to any location on the map by clicking its pin, followed by the action button. This will take you directly to your device’s native maps app which will display directions to the location.
