Please note, these options may change depending on the phone model and OS version.
Before installing Qustodio on your Android device, make sure to remove or turn off Google Family Link. Then choose one of the following options:
Important: When creating your Qustodio account, we recommend using an email address your child does not have access to. Make sure you use this email address every time you log into Qustodio on your devices and when installing Qustodio on your child’s devices. |
I have an account
Repeat the following steps for each Android device your child uses. Downloading and installing Qustodio takes about ten minutes.
1. Open Google Play and search for Qustodio or click this link:

2. Select Kids App Qustodio
3. Tap Install
4. Once the app is downloaded, please check that the option Enable auto-update is selected on the three dots menu.
5. Tap Open
6. Tap Log in.
7. Enter your email address and password and tap Login.
8. Tap on Protect this device.
9. Enter a name for the device and click Next.
Tip. Choose a name that obviously links to this specific device, such as Samsung Galaxy S20 if the device is branded Samsung Galaxy.
10. Choose who will use the device or create a new child profile.
11. Tap Let's do it! to continue.
12. When prompted to activate Allow Reporting, choose Go to settings.
13. Select Installed apps/services.
14. Find Qustodio Kids, and turn the switch on and click on Allow
15. Select Allow now and switch the toggle on for Qustodio Kids.
16. Allow notifications for Qustodio.
17. Allow app display
18. Turn on all permissions for Qustodio features to work.
19. Tap Activate now.
20. The next steps will Enhance protection* by installing Qustodio VPN and CA certificate.
* If your child's device runs Android 10, please follow these steps.
21. To install Qustodio CA certificate go to Settings, then tap Other security settings, install from device storage and select CA certificate.
Important note: If you see the alert "Action not allowed" please make sure your child's device is not managed by another organization or protected by Family Link. If so, please remove Family Link controls first. |
22. On the next screen, make sure you tap Install anyway, Download folder, Qustodio.pem.
23. That's it. You have successfully installed Qustodio.
Next step: Consider creating some activity on this device to verify that it shows up correctly on your parent's dashboard.

If your child uses an Android 10 device, when reached step 20 please refer to these screens to enable Enhance protection.

Qustodio will send you an email to activate the account. Protection will not be active on the device until you read the email and confirm your account.
