How do I block Games and apps with Qustodio?

All your child’s applications are detected by default. Note that new applications installed will start showing up in your Qustodio app in Games & apps once they've been used at least once by the user.

When first installing Qustodio, the application control feature is disabled by default. If you want to block access or set a time limit for an individual game or app used by your child, please follow the below steps.

  1. Open your Parents App or go to family.qustodio.com and log in with your email and password.
  2. Choose the child’s profile you want to monitor.
  3. Go to Rules > Games & Apps.
  4. First, you need to turn on the feature by sliding the toggle to the right

  5. Then, you need to set up individual restrictions to allow, block, or set a time limit for each app on the list. Tap the dropdown menu and select the relevant option.

  6. If you want to set daily time limits for an app simply, from the dropdown select Set time limit and define the amount of time your child is allowed to use the app, adjusting the slider of the wheel.

  7. On Android devices, you can also choose Always allowed. If you turn this on for an app, it will stay accessible when your child’s device is blocked by Lock Navigation (Disconnect the internet), either using Daily Time Limits, Routines, Family or individual Pause Internet.

Important: with Qustodio for iOS you can monitor, block and set a time limit only for compatible applications. Click here for more information.

What happens when I block an application:

  • On Android: A block screen will pop up over the restricted app, preventing any access.
  • On iOS: The app's internet connection will be limited. If you want to know more about how iOS apps are restricted, click here.
  • On Windows or Mac: Qustodio simply closes the app immediately after it's launched.
