How do I block or allow websites using Qustodio?

Qustodio’s Web Filtering allows you to block websites and set other web filtering rules for your children.

By default, Qustodio blocks websites with adult or sensitive content to ensure a safe browsing experience for children. However, you can personalize the filter to adjust it to your family’s needs.

Learn here what to do if Qustodio is not classifying a website correctly.

Tip: Having internet browsing monitored can be frustrating for a child. We recommend that you discuss with your child which websites you’re blocking, and why.

How do I block or allow web categories

1. Open the Parents App or visit family.qustodio.com and log in.

2. Select your child's profile and then click on Rules > Web Filtering.

Do you need to start over? To restore these rules back to default settings, just go to the bottom of the page, click on Select all > Restore default values.

What happens if I choose alert me or ignore

If you choose to be alerted, Qustodio will send you a notification every time your child visits a website in the selected category, but it won’t block access to the site. You can also set individual web rules to be alerted when your child visits that specific site.

Apart from your web rules, Qustodio will also notify you about important topics your children are searching online. Click here to learn more about this.

If you already allowed a website but your child still can’t access it, changing the rule from allow to ignore, will make Qustodio completely ignore the connection.

We recommend setting the ignore rule only for trustworthy websites. This option ensures that while the screen time spent on the device will still be counted, visits to the site won’t appear as activity in the child’s Timeline.

Supported browsers for monitored devices

Qustodio can report and block websites on the following browsers:

  • Windows computers: Google Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge.
  • Mac computers: Google Chrome, Safari and Firefox.
  • Android devices: Google Chrome and Firefox.
  • iOS devices: Google Chrome and Safari.
  • Chromebook devices: Google Chrome.
  • Kindle devices: Amazon Silk Browser.

Qustodio will automatically block unsupported browsers by default.

If your child is using a supported browser but you cannot see their web activity, check these steps
